Hearst Memorial Mining Building

Opened in 1907, HMMB was originally intended to  train future miners. Today, HMMB is home to numerous innovative materials science groups, including the Scott Lab!

This is where Scott Lab primarily performs chemical synthesis.

National Center for Electron Microscopy (NCEM) at the Molecular Foundry, LBL

NCEM is home to state-of-the-art electron microscopes that have been used to characterize structure and properties of numerous materials.

These facilities, combined with a world class view, makes NCEM a perfect location to work!
